Back from the IZ
« on: April 03, 2010, 07:49:27 PM »
Hey all! Just wanted to say hi. I've been away for a long time (going on 6 months now). I'm home for 14 days on R&R and am visiting my folks in Chicago. I'm not quite ready to be reactivated with ZAU since I have another several months before we catch the big bird home for good. So I just wanted to say hi to all my buds here at ZAU that I've missed working with.

Have I missed any significant changes to ZAU since I've been away?

Hey Tom, glad to see you're back home safe and sound. Not too much has happened lately, just charging ahead as usual.

Stay safe out there!!!

Hey Cap'n Tom!  Great hearing from you again.  Sorry this is late but by internet has been down since the 2nd until today.  Have fun on your R&R and stay safe when you head back to the desert.

Hi guys! I'm right back where I started almost 9 months ago, sitting a BIAP waiting for the big bird to take us home. I just thought I'd check in and see whats new around here. I hope no one trashed my training file!  :o

I'll be all set rejoin my favorite ARTCC in probably another few weeks once I'm home and set back up stateside. I'll be looking forward to take some refresher training classes once I have my setup rebuilt after I move into a new apartment.

Anyways, hope everything is going well for everyone.

Glad to hear you're safe Tom. Welcome back, and when you get back stateside, all of us local IL NorthWest suburbians need to meet up and buy you a drink or 5.  8)

Well I just made it back to Drum today, so this deployment is officially now in the books. I'll be back in Chicago on block leave starting on or about August 20th for about a month. I'll keep everyone advised on my status!

On a sidenote, not matter how many times I hear it, hearing the flight attendant come on the PA system on the aircraft saying "please place all weapons under your seat with the muzzle facing outward".
